22 Species of Warblers on Sunday May 18, 2014

Quite a day for birding Jackson Park. Wooded Island was loaded with warblers, including Mourning, Prothonotary, Black-throated Blue, Golden-winged, Canada (8) and Parula. A great day to casually roam about. Four Blue-winged Teal rounded off the day along with an Olive-sided Flycatcher. Watch the youtube of the tealhttp://youtu.be/nr4mHSYw8vY

An Interesting Week of Birding-Cold Wet Weather-May 16, 2014

Although the wind was not conducive to migration, there were some nice birding days this week. I also had a chance to visit the Indiana Dunes State Park Hawkwatch. Very few hawks but 102 species of birds passing through. The photo's today represent Illinois count day (Saturday May 10), Indiana Dunes  and a few days this week. This morning almost 1,000 Cormorants flew past our window. See the youtube at: http://youtu.be/yJ6nKAUOPhY
